Our Team

Jennifer McGivern - Founder/ CEO

‘’Hi, I’m Jennifer. I’m a mum, Registered Nurse and Founder/ CEO of Worthy Australia.

I first started work in the not-for-profit sector in QLD in 2012 and found myself working with
some fabulous nationally recognised charity organisations. Since moving back to Perth in 2016, I realised there was a real need for a home-grown charity organisation that directly assists women and children affected by domestic violence and other social injustices.

I wanted to be a part of an organisation that ran with 100% transparency, without ego, without pay checks going to directors; An organisation that people would relate to and want to be a part of. An organisation that wouldn’t just talk about making social change; one that would be out there every day making a real difference.

I couldn’t find an organisation that ticked all the boxes, and so Worthy Australia was born.

I’m so excited that we’ve been able to create a platform for the incredible Perth community to be a part of & I look forward to sharing this very worthy journey with you, because when we stand together, incredible things really do happen.’’

Kimberley McGivern - Director/ Corporate Communications

“I'm Kimberley, communications specialist, loving partner, sister, auntie and I hope to use my experience to further the impact of our cause at Worthy.

One of my core values is justice, and I feel called to action when I see injustice occur - like the continued abuse of women and children at the hands of domestic violence perpetrators. This is why I am so passionate about our cause.

I am a communications specialist with a background in Journalism and broadcasting. I have always had a vested interest in domestic violence and the changes we need to see to make real positive change for the women and children who experience it.

Outside of my work and volunteering, I love my two big dogs, walking in nature, floral dresses, big earrings, strong coffee and turning thoughts into action to make real change."

Martin Ball - Director / Logistics Manager

"Hi, I’m Martin. I’m a Chief Petty Officer in the Royal Australian Navy, Technical Director of Rockingham City Football Club, Men’s Australian Navy Football coach, a proud Dad, loving partner, and most recently, Director and Logistics Manager of Worthy Australia.

I strongly believe that Domestic Violence will only cease when men join forces with women, to put an end to it. I want my two daughters growing up in a world where gender based violence is a thing of the past and I hope that by lending my voice to this worthy cause, it will encourage others to do the same.

When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my family, playing football or watching football”.

Emma Connor - Board Member / Donations Coordinator

"Hi, I’m Emma I’m a Registered Mental Health Nurse, proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and the Donations Coordinator of Worthy Australia.

Working as a mental health nurse I have been witness to many of the injustices women experience in our direct community. All women deserve equity and I’ve chosen to join Worthy to provide that practical support.

I’m excited about the things we can achieve at Worthy, and I hope to encourage more people to stand up and take action with us. "
